Hi. this was my answers of the diagnostic examen:

DIAGNOSTIC TEST QUESTIONS 1-3: WRITING A SENTENCE BASED ON A PICTURE Directions: In this part of the test, you need to write ONE sentence that is based on the given picture. With each picture, you will be given TWO words or phrases that you must use in your sentence. You can change the forms of the words and you can use the words in any order. Your sentences will be scored depending on the following criteria: ·       the appropriate use of grammar and; ·       the relevance of the sentence to the picture. You will have 4 minutes to complete this part of the test. Question 1 (people/ lots of)                              In the picture, we can see that the people is in the library because there is a lot of books on the shelves, also they are searching and reading their books.   Question 2 (kids / while) We can deduce that the kids are in the kindergarten because they are standing there while the woman is teaching them something.   Question 3 (wall / so) The man is painting the wall, so he can be the owner of the house or maybe he can be a painter who was hired to paint the wall.   Questions 4: Responding to Written Requests Directions: In this part of the test, you will be asked to respond to the given situation in an e-mail. Your response will be scored depending on the following criteria: ·       the quality and variety of your sentences, ·       vocabulary, and ·       organization. You will be given 10 minutes to read and answer the e-mail. Read the e-mail below. Respond to the email as if you were Mr. Kim. In your e-mail, ask ONE question regarding your booking and make TWO requests. From: Jay Jackson To: Mr. Kim Subject: Confirmation Dear Mr. Kim, On behalf of the management of H2O Hotel, I am writing to confirm your reservation for your upcoming event and to know if there is any special request regarding software or equipment for this day. According to our records you will hold your annual conference on the 15th of this month. Your booking consists of the main banquet hall and our small conference center. There are various options for technical installations and equipment that are available for rent so, please, let us know your technical requirements in order to set up everything for your event. I have one question about my booking and it’s, what time can I go to bedroom? Or what time is the check-in? I ask you this because I don’t like to be waiting in the lobby while it’s time. And about the technical requirement I have two request, the first one is that I need a projector for giving presentations, and I don’t know if yours conference center have speakers, but if not I will need them so that everyone can hear the conference perfectly. Question 5: Writing an Opinion Essay Directions: In this part of the test, you need to write an essay in response to a question that asks you to state, explain, and support your opinion regarding an issue. Typically, an effective essay will contain a minimum of 300 words. Your response will be scored depending on the following criteria: ·       Whether your opinion is supported with reasons and/or examples, ·       grammar, ·       vocabulary, and; ·       organization. You will have 30 minutes to plan, write, and revise your essay Some job advertisements specify an age limit which can be understood as a way of discrimination. Do you think age limit should be illegal? Provide reasons and examples to support your opinion. My opinion in this subject was that maybe the limit shouldn’t be illegal but they should respect, because the kids need to go to school and not work, and I think that if the age limit loose power the bad parents will take advantage of that and the children will be working instead of studying. In Mexico this is one of the huge problems that we have, this problem is that a lot of children’s are in the street working instead of been studying. So, they have less opportunities to get a good job. The fact of not having an education that gives them an opportunity to overcome, these children’s in the future will be forced to become criminals because they have no other way to make money. So based in the above we can conclude that if we eradicate the limit age of working more children’s will be suffer exploitation by their parents, and the nivel of illiteracy will increase more and more with the passage of the years, and what should be sought is not to eradicate the age limit of work, the government should be sought is to improve more opportunities for the kids so that they can study and overcome and achieve a good standard of living.

My reflection:

I think that it was easier in the first two part but when I start the essay I have a lot of problems with the vocabulary because it's not a easy topic. So I need to improve my vocabulary in all the topic that I can and start to investigate more of the different topics that can came in the exam.
